Andamiro releases Pump It Up Mobile Edition on Google Play
SEOUL, Korea—October 17, 2019— Three, two, one PUMP! And let your fingers do the dancing. The world’s No.1 arcade dance simulation game is now available for mobile devices, putting the dance stage in the player’s hand.
Called Pump It Up Mobile Edition, or PIU M, the new gaming app is being released today on Google Play for Android devices. It’s free and is rated for Everyone. A version for iOS devices will be released at a later date.
PIU M is published by South Korea’s Andamiro Co. Ltd., which produces the full-size Pump It Up amusement machine cabinet and software. The arcade game, which is outfitted with two side-by-side five-step electronic dance stages, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. PIU M is part of the celebration.
Pump It Up was originally released in August 1999 in South Korea. The game immediately became a huge success in its home market and quickly reached other parts of Asia, North and South America and Europe. Today, Pump It Up is an international pop-culture icon and commands a zealous and growing fan base. Highlighting the anniversary was the January 2019 release of the Pump It Up 20th Anniversary edition, dubbed PIU XX, for Andamiro’s deluxe 55” HD arcade cabinet. PIU XX is being hailed as the best game ever in the arcade dance genre.
“Pump It Up Mobile Edition will allow anyone at any time to experience the nostalgia of Pump Up It on their phones,” said Changhee Son, team leader of the M-Business unit, which spearheads the development of Andamiro’s music products. “It will also introduce Pump It Up to a whole new audience.”
PIU M boasts intuitive game play that anybody can master; players simply touch the arrows that follow the music beat to score. A wide range of difficulty levels will please beginner to expert players. And an app user can compete with other PIU M players around the globe and try for the highest score on a song to win the title of World’s Best.
Songs never played on the arcade game are released with PIU M. In addition to these mobile-exclusive titles, PIU M ships with 200 classic songs featured on the arcade game. Music for the mobile edition is free and will be updated regularly.
