LAS VEGAS–March, 18, 2016– Andamiro USA has unveiled its Baseball Pro Arcade sports-themed game at the 2016 Amusement Expo International here. According to the manufacturer, it is a follow-up to its hit SpongeBob Pineapple Arcade ticket-redemption piece. Its spring release is timed to coincide with the start of the Major League Baseball season.

Andamiro’s Drew Maniscalco explained that the game is best envisioned as a “giant pitch-and-bat” challenge. The player uses a miniature baseball bat to hit the ball onto the playfield, using skill to direct it away from the out holes. Good batting technique is rewarded with tickets. Audio play-by-play commentary and responsive illumination effects enhance the experience. The game has tremendous presence, Maniscalco reported, and is fun to play, as evidenced by strong initial test results.

Baseball Pro simulates the real game by blending mechanical engineering with electronics. It features a moving homerun target, hit and out targets, a miniature baseball bat interface and automatic pitching mechanism. When they make a hit, runners advance along the bases. Maniscalco observed that Andamiro’s new baseball game harkens back to the mechanical pitch-and-bat games of the 1950s.

The 2016 MLB season opens on April 3, and Andamiro’s Baseball Pro will start shipping in the same month.
